Guidelines

Review the rules and guidelines for entry submission below. Then when you're ready, register online. Good luck!
How to Enter

Full entry guidelines and online registration are available on this site. Upon registration and online payment, please print out a copy of your entry coupons. Each project comes with six entry coupons with a project code. An entry coupon must be taped to each piece of an entry. This allows entries to be tracked throughout the judging process and maintain anonymity. We are unable to return professional entry submissions for any category.

Any entry that has a physical component and that cannot be judged solely from a URL, should and must have a physical entry delivered to AIGA KC. Traditional entries are only judged by a physical submission (printouts and samples). Digital entries are judged on screen by a URL.

The digital image upload part of the entry process is NOT what the entries will be judged by. That is solely for administration and entry identification purposes.

Submitting Print and Packaging Work

For printed work, please submit one copy of the finished piece, unmounted but well protected.

For three-dimensional work that measures less than 48" combined length, width and depth please submit one three-dimensional piece, unmounted but well protected.

For print work smaller than 36" x 48" please submit one copy of the finished piece, unmounted but well protected. For print work larger than 36" x 48" please submit submit one high-resolution photo or print (mounted or unmounted).

Multiple Piece Entries – LIMIT 5 TO A SERIES

We have eliminated the extra fee for entries that have multiple pieces. Hooray! With that said, all entries need to be no more than FIVE individual physical pieces (packaging, photographs, etc.) If an entry has more than five components, please deliver the physical entries that best showcase the work and consider submitting a photograph/print (as one of the five entry elements) that showcases more of the components and the breadth of the project.

Eligibility

All entries must have been published/produced after April 2013. The same project cannot be entered into the awards two years in a row, unless it has undergone significant content and design changes.

Winning Entries

Winning entries will receive exposure through the A10 Design Annual and will be honored at the A10 Awards Gala and Exhibition in the Fall of 2014. Winners may be asked to provide additional copies or high-resolution digital files of their winning entry for use in the exhibition.

Notification

Notification letters will be sent in the Summer of 2014. The list of the jury's selections will be posted on the AIGA KC website after our awards gala in the Fall of 2014. If you are notified that the jurors have selected your entry, we may require additional copies of it for photographing and exhibition. We regret that additional copies of the entries cannot be returned. Please refrain from submitting an entry if you will be unable to send us one additional copy of it if selected.

The Gala at the Firestone Building

Save the date! AIGA KC’s legendary awards gala will be held Saturday, September 20 at the Firestone Building at 2001 Grand Blvd. Jurors’ Choice and People’s Choice will be announced at the gala. It’s sure to be the design party of the year!

Choice Awards

The People's Choice Award gives special recognition to one of the winning entries. For the third year running, after the judges make their picks, we turn it over to you to select your favorite. All entries selected to be a part of the exhibition by the jurors will be automatically shown at the gala and entered into the PCA. Student entries are eligible for the People’s Choice Award but will compete with all entries, including professional entries. Just like with A8 and A9, the People's Choice will be voted on by the attendees of the exhibition gala on September 22nd and announced at the end of the evening along with the Jurors' Choice awards. Good luck, and may the people be with you!
